St Ives September Festival

The annual and ever popular St Ives Festival features a host of events across the town. There is something for all tastes with many styles of live music going on, including Reggae, Folk, Big Band, Jazz, Contemporary, Classical, Indian and Disco Funk.

As you might expect in St Ives, there are also plenty of Art Exhibitions, involving galleries, open studios and live performances throughout the town. There are also talks, walks and Theatre and Comedy to enjoy – even Films Cabaret and live Street entertainment.

Little Orchard Cider & Music Festival: 13th to 15th September 2019
The Little Orchard Cider & Music Festival returns to the beautiful grounds of Healey’s Cyder Farm at Penhallow, Truro. The festival bills itself as “a charming Cornish party with some big live bands, a groovy silent disco, camping and glamping, secret cider walks and cider tasting featuring a huge range of delicious ciders from across the UK plus lots, lots more!” There is also a BBC Introducing stage.

Watergate Bay Speed Hillclimb 14th to 15th September 2019
Organisers of the ground-breaking Watergate Bay Speed Hillclimb in Cornwall can confirm that the motorsport weekend will become an annual event and take place for a second time. The Hillclimb can be enjoyed by experienced motorsport competitors and spectators alike.

Falmouth Week: 9th to 18th August 2019
Falmouth Week has grown into the largest sailing regatta in the south west with more than 450 yachts racing over eight days. Whilst the focal point is unquestionably the sailing itself, there are also many shore-side events with a lively programme of daytime and evening attractions, including the Pink Wig charity event which raises money for breast cancer.

Cornish Steam and Country Fair: 16th to 18th August 2019
Held at Stithians Showground in Truro, this event is organised on behalf of the West of England Steam Engine Society. You will see around 100 full size and miniature steam engines from all over the country, rural craft displays & children’s entertainment celebrating all things steam. There is plenty to entertain everyone around the show including a Fun Fair, Vintage Vehicles and Model & Craft displays.

Falmouth Classics Regatta: 14th to 16th June 2019
The best Classic Boat Regatta comes to Falmouth, Cornwall in June with around 200 classics vessels from all over the UK and Europe taking part in the three-day event. The highlight of the regatta is the Parade of Sail & Power on the Sunday, as competitors parade out under full sail as the festival continues with a spectacular array of traditional song and music around the town.

Lafrowda Festival: 5th to 20th July 2019
West Cornwall
This annual event celebrating community arts since 1996, now attracts around 10,000 visitors and is well-established in the St Just calendar. There are over two weeks of workshops and events, culminating in Lafrowda Day when the streets are closed to provide a day of free entertainment to suit every taste. There are street performers, stalls, refreshments, bouncy castles, three spectacular processions and music on two outdoor stages.

Stithians Agricultural Show: 15th July 2019
Stithians is a showcase for traditional rural life with something for everyone, from displays & demonstrations, a fairground and vintage vehicles, to food & crafts, from a great selection of local producers. There are animals of all varieties, including rare breeds, a dog show, dog agility exhibitions and equestrian events – a full day out for the whole family!

Royal Cornwall Show

6th to 8th June, 2019

The Royal Cornwall has been Cornwall’s showcase since 1793 and provides a fascinating glimpse into rural life. Apart from the livestock judging, there is the famous flower tent, show jumping and a fast and furious inter-hunt relay.

The show takes place over three days in June each year, when Wadebridge’s dedicated showground becomes a bustling town of activity dedicated to agriculture, entertainment and trade and welcomes around 130,000 people to provide a fascinating glimpse into rural life in the county.

Enjoy the livestock judging, or visit the famous flower tent with wonderful floral displays. The show offers a full programme of entertainment over the three days and featuring an equestrian ring and show jumping. There is also a major dog show, a traditional steam fair, plenty of agricultural machinery, a motor fair, crafts, health and beauty…. and as if that is not enough, Royal Cornwall is also home to the Cornwall Festival of Dance, !

Helston Flora Day

8th May, 2019

The famous Flora Day celebration in Helston, West Cornwall, is believed to be pre-Christian and at one time during the Victorian era was banned as being “a drunken revelry.”

The dancing begins at 7am and for those with stamina, you can enjoy a great family day out!

Porthleven Food Festival

26th to 28th April 2019

The picturesque harbour town of Porthleven, West Cornwall, hosts an amazing festival which includes all day cooking demos, food and craft stalls with many local food producers demonstrating their wares.

National Maritime Museum: From 8th March 2019
Running too January 2020, Titanic Stories, is a major new exhibition at the National Maritime Museum in Falmouth which details the tragic journey of the Titanic to its fatal end on 15 April 1912. Alongside documentary, personal photographs, letters and newspaper cuttings are many significant personal belongings that were recovered from the wreck.

Camborne Trevithick Day: 27th April 2019
Honouring local inventor Richard Trevithick, engineer and pioneer of the locomotive, Camborne Trevithick Day takes place each year on the last Saturday of April. It is a community led street festival of free entertainment and a great spectacle for the whole family as they come together to celebrate the inventor with parades of steam engines, singing and dancing.
